HABEMA Task Force: Empowering Papua’s Economy Through Agricultural Support

YAHUKIMO - The Infantry Battalion Task Force (Satgas Yonif) 6 Marines Kostrad, operating under the HABEMA Operations Command in Papua, continues its mission to enhance the welfare of local communities. As part of the RI-PNG Mobile Border Security Operation in Yahukimo Regency, the task force initiated a large-scale purchase of agricultural products from local farmers, demonstrating its commitment to economic empowerment. (Tuesday, 11/02/2025).

This initiative aligns with the directives of Pangkoops HABEMA, emphasizing the importance of community engagement and economic support. By facilitating the sale of locally grown produce, the Yonif 6 Marines Habema Task Force aims to stimulate the economic cycle in Yahukimo, ensuring that farmers receive fair value for their hard work.

Lt. Col. Marines Rismanto Manurung, S.M., M.Tr. Opsla., CTMP., Commander of the Yonif 6 Marines Task Force, stated that this effort is a direct response to the community’s challenges, particularly in marketing their agricultural yields.

“We are here to support the people of Yahukimo, ensuring they have a stable market for their produce. This not only helps them financially but also strengthens the local economy, ” he affirmed.
