Habema Marines Smart Papua Happily Welcomed By Muara Children

YAHUKIMO - One of the military units under the command of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA, the Task Forces of the Infantry Battalion 6 Marines, is currently conducting mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Yahukimo Regency area, Papua Pegunungan Province. On Friday, 11 October 2024, the Marines Task Forces, especially the Logpon Post led by First Lieutenant Nico, invited children from the Muara Village, Dekai District, to participate in a territorial program entitled "Smart Papua." This program has been implemented to deliver additional lesson activities for Elementary School (SD) children who live near the Post.

In his emphasis on the TNI Soldiers, the Commander of the Marines Task Forces, Lieutenant Colonel Rismanto Manurung, conveyed the importance of the Task Forces' attention to the community's basic needs around the Post. For this reason, the Logpon Post has been observing developments in its area since its duties began. The education factor for SD children is one of the essential things in meeting the people’s basic needs in Muara Village. One of the factors underlying this is Muara's location, which is a remote area with limited educational facilities. Based on this attention, on Friday morning, 1LT Nico invited SD children around the Post to participate in additional lesson activities delivered directly by the Soldiers.

Before the lesson began, 1LT Nico expressed his thanks for the children's enthusiastic response to the additional lessons. The children's gratitude, as expressed by Leo Murib, who said, "Thank you, Marines Commander. We are happy to study at the Marines Post. God bless." It clearly indicates the impact of the Marines' efforts on the community. This appreciation makes the audience feel recognized and valued for their support.

"The initiative of the Marines Task Forces to hold the Smart Papua at the Logpon Post, is an effort by the TNI to provide basic needs services, especially education for school-age children, to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
