Balamai Villagers Overjoyed by Special Packages from the Army Chief of Staff, Delivered by HABEMA

INTAN JAYA - The Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command HABEMA continues its mission to foster security and prosperity in Papua. On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, the Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad Task Forces, stationed at the Koper Post and led by Second Lieutenant Alvinta Sembiring, reached out to residents of Balamai Village, Hitadipa District. As part of their area protection duties, the Soldiers carried out Social Communication (Komsos) with the local community while delivering special packages from the Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Army (Kasad).

Under the directive of Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the 509 Task Forces have consistently prioritized the needs of the community. This latest outreach underscores their commitment to inclusivity and welfare, aligning with the Indonesian Government's agenda to accelerate development in Papua.

During their visit, the Soldiers distributed an agricultural sprayer to the villagers, an essential tool to enhance local farming activities and support the region's agricultural development. While maintaining their primary security duties, the Soldiers took the opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue, addressing concerns and strengthening their bond with the villagers.

The gesture was met with overwhelming appreciation from the residents. Mario Japugau, one of the villagers, expressed his gratitude by saying, "Thank you, Bapak Kasad, for the packages we received. God bless." This simple yet powerful statement reflects the profound impact of such initiatives on the lives of those in Papua’s remote areas.

The HABEMA Commanding General, Major General Lucky Avianto, lauded the 509 Task Forces for their initiative. He remarked:
